Virgin Media have experienced transformational change in the last 2 years caused by two major company mergers - firstly between ntl and Telewest and then the integration of Virgin Mobile.

With a user base of 21,000 users and immediate timescales it could have been a mission, that some might have called impossible.
Solution
Driven Systems were engaged to migrate and implement a new LMS using TotalLMS in partnership with SumTotal© Systems, this included:
- a hosted solution (aka OnDemand or Software-as-a-Service)
- migration and consolidation of 21,000 users
- migration of all elearning content and training history
- an interface designed to reduce impact on business-as-usual
- increasing productivity through improved workflows
- increased functionality to continue strategic evolution
- a configurable solution to empower internal staff
The perfect partner to an LMS is a Virtual Conferencing tool. In this case, Adobe Connect was used to deliver live and recorded webinars and Adobe Captivate was use to create rapid learning content.
Results
As well as noting the happy Virgin Media faces, we looked deeper to see the effects of implementing the new LMS :
- minimum disruption to the 21,000 users of the LMS
- a supercharged LMS with Performance Management capabilities
- measurable results in relation to environmental policies
- a project delivered on time and within budget
- last but not least - savings of £8 million over two years!
