As part of a companywide strategic review the HR Director from a successful venture capitalist firm came to talk to us. He highlighted a difficulty they were having in recruiting, developing and holding onto employees with the right set of talents. Coupled with this they also wanted to improve their business results over a short time span.
Working closely with their HR team we were able to unearth their specific requirements around identifying their people skills and strengths. It was also clear that the use of goal setting and reporting on progress with those goals would help them to pinpoint where an individual’s performance had been exceptional : a key factor in helping them retain staff as they could identify top performers and rising stars and work positively to reward them and hang on to them. We were able to design a performance management system for them and have it up and running in only 10 working days whilst other suppliers had informed them that meeting this timescale was impossible.
