1-Click Learning

Published August 29th, 2007

It’s interesting to see how The Open University evolves, my most recent visit to their site shows a lot of similarities to Amazon.

Amazon, for example, are well known for showing what other customers have bought:

Another recent addition is the ability to purchase Continuing Professional Development courses instantly (well at least the process is performed online).  Whilst I haven’t had the pleasure of registering for a course, I get a sneaky suspicion that it will soon become 1-Click Learning – an idea based on 1-Click ordering from Amazon.

With increasing demand on flexible solutions and the ability to choose when to start and finish studying is likely to become standard with many courses.  After all, why should people or businesses have to wait up to 12 months before they can enroll on a course?  How would this effect business or workforce performance?
